Internships

Internships at Great Bend Co-op offer the opportunity for young people to spend time immersed in our organization. Interns get to participate in the daily activities of our full-time staff from across multiple departments. Typically positioned in the Seed and Agronomy Departments, interns will get to experience everything from scouting crops to assisting on sales calls, delivering seed and agronomy products, helping with our extensive test plot system, interacting with patrons, and many other activities.

Each summer, we start our interns out with extensive training on the cooperative system through a program created by the Kansas Cooperative Council. At this training, our interns learn in depth about the cooperative system. Topics include: why cooperatives are formed, member benefits typically included, and about how the Kansas Cooperative Council is involved at the State level. Participants also get to visit and tour the Kansas State Capital in Topeka. This program is paid for as part of the internship experience at Great Bend Co-op.

Representatives from our cooperative attend multiple career fairs at colleges across the state to find qualified candidates for our internship program. These career fairs are a fantastic time to ask questions and learn more about what an internship with Great Bend Co-op is all about.
