EPA Approves Dicamba Through Dec 2025

Oct 28, 2020

On October 27th, 2020, the Environmental Protection Agency announced that they will extend the registrations of three in-crop Dicamba products for DT Soybeans and DT Cotton for the next 5 years. The products approved are XtendiMax®, Engenia®, and Tavium®.

This announcement is a huge win for row crop farmers across our territory. Allowing this chemistry to be a part of a planned herbicide program provides necessary options for controlling tough weeds. Working with your Great Bend Co-op Sales Team, we can help you build a herbicide plan that integrates multiple effective modes of action against tough weeds like pigweed, marestail, and kochia. This announcement also helps in making your seed decisions for the upcoming season. Now is the best time to place your orders for seed, while understanding that your orders can be edited up to January 15th, 2021 which allows for flexibility on your acres.

Diligent stewardship of these dicamba products continues to be of topmost importance. We will continue to provide any required training and guidance as we build knowledge of the best practices when it comes to applying in-crop Dicamba products. Don’t hesitate to reach out to your Great Bend Co-op Sales staff with questions on these or any other products in our lineup.
